Greycon Suite 2026.1: Smarter Planning, Faster Optimisation, Better User Experience

Company News

Greycon Suite 2026.1 introduces a range of enhancements across opt-Studio and X-Trim, helping manufacturers improve planning efficiency, optimise production, and simplify everyday operations. The release delivers faster optimisation, more accurate inventory management, greater flexibility, and enhanced security.

Optimisation That Delivers Greater Efficiency

A key addition to opt-Studio is the new Bucket Optimiser, which reduces machine switchovers by intelligently moving compatible tasks between work centres while respecting production constraints. The result is improved throughput, reduced downtime, and more efficient production schedules, with early testing showing savings of up to 15 hours of switchover time.

Faster and Smarter Replenishment Planning

The replenishment optimiser now delivers faster results through a new “warm start” capability that creates an initial feasible plan before optimisation begins. Users can also define minimum replenishment quantities for SKU groups, making it easier to reflect real production policies. New shortcuts for creating replenishment orders further streamline the planning process.

More Accurate Inventory Visibility

Inventory consumption for multi-day production tasks is now spread across the duration of each task rather than being recorded entirely at the start. This provides a more realistic view of inventory, reduces false stock-out warnings, and gives planners greater confidence when making production decisions.

Improved Stock Management

Enhancements to stock movement planning improve the way replenishment and inventory are managed. Updated planning logic considers stock allocation and forecasts, while new helper functions simplify quantity rounding and improve the handling of planned and tentative stock movements.

A Better Everyday User Experience

Several usability improvements make day-to-day planning more efficient. Filterable drop-down lists allow users to quickly find products, materials, customers, and other records, while a new read-only login mode enables users to review schedules safely without making unintended changes.

Greater Flexibility in X-Trim

X-Trim now allows solutions with multiple primary machines to be released to opt-Studio, even when production runs have not yet been created. Additional enhancements include improved reel mapping, new solution reporting, expanded compatibility, and API improvements that automate stock imports and stock allocation.

Stronger Security and Simpler User Management

Greycon Suite 2026.1 now supports Windows Active Directory Group authentication, allowing organisations to manage user permissions centrally through Active Directory. This simplifies administration while strengthening security, without affecting existing user-based configurations.

Looking Ahead: GreyconWeb

Greycon continues to develop GreyconWeb, its next-generation browser-based platform that will replace WebReports and the opt-Studio Mobile application. The platform will provide a single interface for schedules, dashboards, analytics, and operational data across the Greycon product suite, with future AI-powered capabilities already planned.

Preparing for the Future

As cybersecurity requirements continue to evolve, Greycon is enhancing the security of its products to support compliance with emerging regulations such as the European Union’s Cyber Resilience Act. Combined with the performance and usability improvements introduced in this release, Greycon Suite 2026.1 helps manufacturers plan with greater efficiency, flexibility, and confidence.
