Four new projects

June 2009

Greycon is pleased to announce four new projects:

  • FLEXcon (http://www.flexcon.com), in the USA is the global leader in customer-driven, pressure-sensitive film solutions. FLEXcon products are used for example in durable goods, which includes everything from appliances and power tools to boat motors, jetskis, and lawn and farm equipment. Because of the rigorous conditions these durable goods must endure, such as extreme temperatures, sunlight, chemicals and moisture, and because of the critical nature of the message being communicated, finding a label stock that meets these particular application requirements can be challenging. Greycon will be supplying S-Plan, after an extensive pre-implementation study demonstrated that it could meet FLEXcon’s sophisticated requirements.

  • GGB (http://www.ggbearings.com/) is the world's largest manufacturer of metal-polymer plain bearings. More than 50,000 customers worldwide use products from our full line of self-lubricated, marginally lubricated and fully lubricated plain bearings. GGB products are available in a variety of forms such as cylindrical wrapped bushes, flanged bushes, thrust washers, or as special parts manufactured to customer requirements. Greycon will be supplying X-Trim, after demonstrating superior solutions in this new sector.

  • United Pulp & Paper Co (http://www.uppc.com.ph/), in the Philippines, is part of the SIAM Cement group of companies, where Greycon has supplied a number of systems. This project is in conjunction with Greycon’s Thai partner, Forward Consulting. UPPC is the country’s dominant producer of Linerboard and Corrugating Medium, producing about 220,000 metric tonnes pa.

  • Sigdopack (http://www.sigdopack.cl/), in Chile, Sigdopack belongs to the Chilean Sigdo Koppers group (www.sigdokoppers.cl) and has state-of-the-art technology for Biaxially Oriented Poly Propylene (BOPP) and Biaxially Oriented Nylon film manufacturing, with two plants located in Chile and Argentina. Greycon has supplied X-Trim, and it is already in operation, with local support being provided by Greycon’s wholly-owned subsidiary in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Commenting on the new projects, Greycon’s CEO, Constantine Goulimis said: “Confirming the rather apocryphal theory that Greycon is a good leading indicator of the world economy by about 9 months, these new projects demonstrate that even in times of global economic stress there are good arguments for improved efficiencies. I am particularly glad to see such a geographical spread (adding the Philippines and Chile to the list where Greycon solutions are installed), as well as the addition of new industrial sectors, with FLEXcon’s pressure-sensitive film solutions and GGB’s metal cutting.
