6.8 Release Announcement

April 2009

Greycon is pleased to announce the 6.8 release on 24th April 2009 of its application suite.

Greycon Suite Version 6.8 introduces the following key enhancements:

  • CTP Module – The Capacity-to-Promise module, piloted at a major North American paper company, integrates D-Opt block-scheduling functionality to the customer’s sales and order entry process. The system, providing sub-second response times, makes intelligent trade-offs taking into account machine-specific production and shipping costs.
  • X-Trim Parallel Search – X-Trim users can simultaneously launch multiple algorithm searches, fully exploiting multi-core processors. Each search can have its own machine and algorithm parameter values.
  • X-Trim Utility Orders – X-Trim 6.8 now contains a new order type, which can be placed on top of faults. Useful when some customers are less quality sensitive than others, such orders can massively reduce waste levels.
  • X-Trim All-or-nothing Orders – X-Trim 6.8 now contains another new order type, which provide a midway step between production orders (which have to be made in their entirety) and optional orders (which can be partially made).
  • APS Connector & PDS – Greycon’s certified Powered-by-Netweaver ® interface to SAP now supports SAP Production Data Structures (PDS) which are a replacement for the Production Process Model (PPM) and are easier to maintain and track the evolution of SAP architecture.

In accordance with Greycon’s continuous improvement approach release 6.8 includes 58 enhancements and over 300 bug fixes. Version 6.8 is the most stable and tested software Greycon has ever released, a direct result of Greycon’s Zero-Bug Project and on-site extensive testing by pilot customers.
