Platforms

Greycon products are designed and built on Microsoft platforms. Software development uses the test-driven methodology. Greycon products increasingly utilise multi-core CPU’s in order to generate the highest quality solutions at the shortest possible time.

Databases

Greycon products tend to use either Oracle or Microsoft's SQL Server.

International Support

Greycon products are to be found all over the world and this has required a number of advanced features. In addition, even in a single country terminology often differs from mill to mill. Specifically, the following functionality is available:

Units

Greycon products are unit-aware and support both metric and imperial units of measure.

Language

Greycon products are inherently multilingual, including support for multi-byte Far Eastern languages such as Chinese. In addition, and in order to cope with local terminology, new languages can be defined.

On-line Help / Manuals

Greycon provides manuals in English in Adobe Acrobat format. On-line context-sensitive help is available in English.

Paper Size

The standard reports provided are available in both A4 size and US Letter size.

Windows Regional Settings

The system uses the Windows regional settings formats for the display of numbers and dates.

Reporting

Greycon products are supplied with an extensive baseline library of reports in English. A portfolio of all reports is available upon request or can be downloaded from the White Papers section (registration required). The reports can be customised via Crystal Reports.

Web-based reporting is also available; these are highly configurable (but not user modifiable) reports that require zero installation.

Integration

Integration with third-party applications is typically done via a messaging interface. Depending on the magnitude and complexity of the project, alternative solutions are available, including certified interfaces.

Product Updates

Greycon releases new version of the products typically twice a year. Customers tend to update their installation once a year, unless wishing to use specific functionality. Installation sets (and updates) are available for download from our web site (registration required).
