CPFR : Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment
Product Overview
Greycon has participated in the development of I-Plan, a product now supplied by Trading Science. I-Plan contains the following key components:
- Collaborative Forecasting
- Master Planning (including various optimisation components from Greycon, including Supply Network Optimisation and Run Optimisation - (see below)
Supply Network Optimisation
The supply network optimisation module (SNO) within I-Plan performs large-scale sourcing optimisation, i.e. helps determine which particular sources should be used at any given time to satisfy demand, with the overall objective of maximising total profit. The optimisation is always performed within the context of scenario analysis, which allows the user to create multiple alternative scenarios before finally selecting the most desirable and releasing it to the live system.
Specific features of SNO include:
- Ability to handle mixed ownership and different tax rates
- Ability to distinguish between must-make and optional demand
- Considers finished and semi-finished inventory
- Multiple transportation modes
- Production constraints cover both primary production and finishing
- Multi-time-period optimisation, scalable to very large problems
Run Optimisation
The run optimisation module within I-Plan takes the sourced and rough-cut plan generated by SNO and performs, for each source primary workcentre, run optimisation. This optimisation creates optimised run sequences. Click here to see a case study on the benefits of the Run Optimiser.
Specific features of run optimiser include:
- Sequence-dependent setup costs and times
- Order priority
- User-controlled customer service controls (earliness / lateness)
