Printing Industry
Attribute-Based Scheduling
S-PlanĀ® does not need a product structure. Many customers, particularly in the printing industries, successfully use the system without any notion of a product. For instance, instead of defining a product code for 200 gsm board, 960 mmx420 mm, 6-color printing, saddleback stitch binding, with S-Plan one can define properties that characterise a product (such as color, basis weight width, length, watermark, sheeting type, packing type and palletization), then define an appropriate route, through fundamental operations. Each operation can have its own units of measure and its own waste figures
- Pre-press, press, bindery multi-site synchronisation
Multi-part Jobs
S-Plan can recognise the logical and physical inter-dependence of the many components that make up a job and can ensure that operations do not take place until all of the components are available.
Colour Press Scheduling
An efficient schedule of color presses is at the heart of planning efficiency for many printing operations. S-Plan can employ sophisticated sequence-dependent optimisation logic that balances the cost of switchovers against customer service issues.
Skill, Tool & Material Requirements
S-Plan can be programmed to take into account skill, tool and material requirements. Skill requirements can be defined both for the setup and the running of each task. Tools with finite life, such as plates, can also be modeled.
